Mental Projectors: The Most Misunderstood Type

Ra Uru Hu, the founder of HD, stated that we do not know much about Mental Projectors. As their definition is mental, they tend be experts on the mental plane, but on the other hand can get easily lost in the Maya. But quite the opposite seems to be true, at least so for experienced Mental Projectors.

What is a Mental Projector?

A person is a Mental Projector when the Human Design body graph shows no definitions below the Throat centre (all centres below the throat are white). Every Mental Projectors has the Ajna defined, and at least one additional centre: Head and/or Throat.

Due to their many undefined centres, Mental Projectors are relatively open to their environment and very sensitive to current transits. As all open centres could easily get conditioned by their surroundings, Mental Projectors have a lot of work to do in the deconditioning department.

No Inner Authority

Only Mental Projectors and Reflectors do not have Inner Authority. For Reflectors, it is advised to wait for the moon cycle to complete to reach clarity on a decision. Mental Projectors have another tool at hand: soundboarding. To release the mental pressure, Mental Projectors need to talk it out and hear their own voice. It is said that this is their authority. Well, from experience, I can say it is not exactly that. It is not that we have to constantly talk about decisions we need to make.

Bodily Awareness

As one of the precious Mental Projectors I know once said: There is no need for a decision when you know what to do. So how to be that sure about something when you have nothing to rely on? No sacral response, splenic go-signal or emotional wave? Well, the answer is simple: the body tells you. One thing that many Mental Projectors talk about is that their body starts do strange things when not in the right environment or about to do something it does not want to.  For example (I’m a MP as well) my body starts to smell weird in the wrong and smells extremely good in the right environment. Some just get sick. And it doesn’t take long for the body to react. It is more like an instant reaction. It is like your whole system reacts instantly to something that could play out at as problem – no matter what the chatty mind is saying. The only tricky part is to trust that small hints of the body.

Wisdom of the Body

Even before I knew I was a Mental Projector, a palm reader once told me that I should pay close attention to “wrong” colours in my house, for I can get physically sick because of details others would not even recognize. It is really like that. Or when I’m with somebody and the food starts to taste nasty, I know it is time to leave the situation, no matter what. It is not the food most of the time, it is just that I “eat” the whole atmosphere. The wisdom of the body is in itself of much greater value than the insights of the mind. And honestly, I think we should always go with the flow of our bodies and don’t turn that inner wisdom, I believe we all have in common, into something mental.

Environmental Wisdom – Outer Authority

What helped me a lot in my process is to simply admit that I just do not feel right with certain people or in certain towns, or in certain places. It is not that I immediately know what exactly the issue is. And frankly spoken, sometimes there is no explanation why exactly things are not right for you. It is not that a person has to do you purposefully wrong in order to not be correct for you. And sometimes the super nice flat you consider moving into is just at the wrong floor. Others may find the flat amazing, but you just do not feel right about it. There is not rational explanation for it. It is just what it is.

In addition, as soon as I admit that the meat-suit I live in is not truly vibing, my Other Authority kicks in, and I speak my truth. I will explain and address the issue, surprising myself and everyone around me. And no, that’s not always nice. But when I have to get rid of something or someone that is not correct for me, there is no space for second guessing myself.

Trust in the right Timing!

But there is also something I would love to call environmental wisdom. Some might say that the universe is giving us signs. I go more into the depts of it in this article on Outer Authority.

By calling that environmental wisdom, I mean to emphasize that the outside world is functioning as a mirror and Outer Authority – guiding you safely through the ups and downs of life. I think that this environmental wisdom is not solely a Mental Projector thing, but it seems to me that we MPs are naturally more aware of it.


Deconditioning is Key – not only for Mental Projectors

But there is another side to this environmental wisdom, though: It would be relatively easy to over-interpret the outside world and its signs in a neurotic way. Like interpreting everything in your favour or lacking distance. Therefore, deconditioning is key – otherwise you would only replicate patterns that are not correct for you. The mind is indeed not very helpful in that process, because it loves to justify everything in order to make you comfortable with what is not correct for you. To align to your true nature, again the body is key.

How to decondition?

  1. Sleep alone.
    The idea of a shared bedroom is indeed a relatively new one in human history. For the longest time it was common knowledge that permanently sharing your bed is not the healthiest choice, and couples used to have at least to single beds in one room.  When you share your bed, you are conditioning the other person in their sleep and vice versa. But to awake as “you” and therefore meeting the other person as yourself is key in the process of deconditioning.
  2. Spend as much time possible in your natural environment, according to your body graph.
    Though this is important for everyone, I think it is even more important for Mental Projectors. Me for exp., I am active mountains environment. Whenever I spend time high up somewhere, be it a roof top or an actual mountain top, I can let go of all the struggles that  mingling with other people entails.
  3. Spend time alone.
    Only when you spend time in your own aura, you can get a feeling of your very true nature.
  4. Pay attention to the transits.
    Mental Projectors are much more affected by the transits than other types. But paying attention to the transits is key in the deconditioning process for everyone. Maybe your current mood is not yours at all!
  5. Learn about your PHS (Primary Health System)!
    Learning about the correct way of eating, according to your Digestive Type, is essential, especially for MPs. And most likely you will see that you just have to un-learn what other people told you about food. Because children naturally know when, where and how to eat – until their parents tell them otherwise.

    Waow!!! THis is just incredible and helping and healing!!! I was a bit disappointed in myself to be a MP with this soundboarding thingy because i just felt dependant on the quality of the people surrounding me. I was like, ok so if those people are not aligned but I soundboard with them, i will just have wrong feedbacks and all. I was feeling a bit shitty because inner authority sound s like intuition which is a biggie in finding your purpose, destiny, connecting to your high self, right?? Everybody would be like “listen to the leader voice inside of you”, “trust your gut feelings” and often times, i would just be like i do not know what you are talking about. I know I am exaggerating!!! Just so happy to find something I can relate to more: smell is a big thing for me too! and my skin is so reactive… Pffiou THANK YOU and will be digging more in your articles on outer authority!!
